But I found out that what I thought was wrong, was actually right. In this article I'm going to show you why I got overwhelmed when writing a resume and how you can avoid it, too.If you've been in this industry for any length of time, you know how this happens. It's no different from when you get overwhelmed when walking down the street. Like everyone else, you expect the world to be moving fast, and it does get really annoying when you keep getting tripped up by traffic on the way to where you're going.In fact, you'd be surprised at how many people don't realize just how much they are missing out on when it comes to their career if they don't focus their efforts on specific subject matter. For example, when you're writing a resume you should write about something that interests you. Your goal is to create a compelling resume that's loaded with all the information you need to get hired.So when you're looking at what companies are really looking for, the first thing you should do is realize you're not going to be able to stand out by having 'top-notch' credentials. They're boring and won't get you hired. Instead you should focus on what will get you hired, and that's your personality.Even if you're not a great writer, or a wonderful communicator, if you can deliver a powerful presentation, you have a better chance of making it into the company. You'll be surprised at just how much this will help your chances of getting hired when you focus on doing this.Then, when you start putting together your resume you need to think about all the information you want to include. Not just the keywords alone. You need to add that one little something special. That's where the content comes in.You need to be sure to include content about you that is unique. Don't copy other resumes. It's one thing to use information, but it's another to take things out of context and slap it all together. Make sure you leave as much room as possible to express yourself.After you have the content you should start using it but only to outline, and then to add to the content once you are in the job hunt. The point is to make it sound like you've spent your life in the job market, and then keep your eyes peeled for the perfect opportunity. As long as you have a strategy to keep your eye on the job, you will never get overwhelmed when writing a resume.
